Features
Everything, and
nothing you didn't ask for.
A budgeting app that does budgeting properly, rather than a personal-finance suite that does eleven things adequately.
The four things it does
Plan
Envelopes, targets, rollover, allocation rules and scheduled funding.
Track
Transactions, recurring bills, labels, debts, accounts and receipts.
Understand
Reports, pacing, forecasting, net worth and coaching suggestions.
Share
A separate workspace with roles, limits and approvals.
Plan
Envelopes that fund themselves.
Set a target per envelope and let allocation rules do the handing-out. Percentage of income, fixed amount, or top-up-to-target — triggered on payday or on a schedule.
- Rollover per envelope, so sinking funds accumulate
- Allocation rules with scheduled triggers
- Savings-mode envelopes for goals with a target date
- Move money between envelopes in two taps
- Weekly, biweekly or monthly periods

Track
Log it once, in the place it belongs.
Expenses, income, transfers and allocations are all first-class. Recurring rules post the predictable ones for you, and labels cut across envelopes when a holiday or a project spans several.
- Recurring transactions, posted automatically
- Labels across envelopes — “vacation”, “tax deductible”
- Photo receipts on any transaction
- Multi-currency, with a home currency for totals
- Bank reconciliation against a statement (Ultimate)

It suggests the envelope. It never reports home.
Not connecting to your bank means more typing — we say that plainly elsewhere on this site. A small AI model running on your own device narrows that gap: it suggests which envelope a transaction belongs to while you are still typing the description, and the description never leaves the phone to get an answer.
- Runs entirely on-device — nothing about the transaction is sent anywhere
- A one-time download of a few megabytes, removable any time in Settings
- Off until you say yes, and overruling a suggestion is how it learns your merchants
The model lives on your device — a small one-time download, removable any time in Settings. It reads what you typed to make the suggestion and nothing leaves the phone to do it. You can always overrule it; picking a different envelope is what teaches it your merchants.
Periods
A month that closes properly.
Periods are real objects with their own income, allocations and history. Closing one carries the balances you chose to roll and leaves the rest behind, and every past period stays readable.
- Per-envelope rollover
- Every closed period keeps its own figures
- Per-period view on any envelope
The envelope is not short just because this month has not topped it up. A rolled-over balance is money that is already in the envelope, so the bar reads it as funded — which is why an envelope you did not re-fund this month still shows green rather than an empty track.
Debt
Payoff strategies with real arithmetic.
Track balances and rates, then compare snowball against avalanche on the numbers rather than the vibes — the date you finish and the interest each route costs.
- Snowball and avalanche compared side by side
- Interest projections and a debt-free date
- Payments recorded against envelopes like any other spend
Avalanche saves $932.99 in interest
Understand
Reports that answer a question.
Twelve months of history, category trends, and pacing that tells you mid-month whether you are on track — while there is still a month left to change it.
- Spending reports and advanced insights
- Overspending alerts before the period ends
- Forecasting, pacing and net worth (Ultimate)
- CSV export on Premium, PDF reports on Ultimate
Understand
See a month move, not just add up.
Money Flow lays a period out as one picture — income splitting into envelopes, envelopes splitting into spent and left. Switch to Groups and the same money rolls up into Bills and Everyday; switch to Both to see the roll-up and its members at once.
- Tap any bar or ribbon to trace just its path
- Replays the period on open — or scrub it by hand
- A group bar is exactly its members added up — never an invented rollup
Three real renders of the same August, not a mockup with two invented neighbours. Plays on its own, or step through with the arrows.
1. Envelopes One bar per envelope
2. Groups Roll envelopes up into their groups
3. Both Groups in their own column, then envelopes

A workspace, not a merged budget.
Ultimate adds a second, separate workspace — for a household or a side business — that stays isolated from your personal one. Invite up to four others, give them roles, cap what they can spend.
- Kept fully separate from your personal budget
- Roles and permissions per member
- Per-member spending limits
- Approval workflows over a threshold you set
- Collaborative notes on transactions

Sync & platforms
Offline first, synced second.
The app runs entirely on your device. Sync, on the paid tiers, is something it does in the background — never something the interface waits for.
Works with no signal
Every screen, every edit, every report works offline. Changes queue and reconcile when you are back.
iPhone & iPad
On the App Store now, with home-screen widget shortcuts for quick adds. Android is coming; until then it runs in the browser.
Any browser
Installs as a PWA on desktop and mobile. Same data, same features.
Learning
Thirteen modules, built in.
Short slide-based lessons that teach the method rather than the buttons. Four modules are on the free tier; the rest come with Premium.
Financial foundations
Cash flow, sinking funds, emergency funds, and why the month keeps ending early.
Envelope budgeting
Funding, rollover, moving money, and what to do when an envelope runs dry.
Using Minturn
Allocation rules, recurring bills, labels, reconciliation and reports.
Building habits
Streaks, the weekly review, and getting past the month-three cliff.
Start with the free tier.
Ten envelopes and fifty transactions a month is enough to find out whether the method suits you.
